Celebrating Read Across America Day

Andy Alligator’s Fun Park & Water Park is hosting a book drive March 2nd through March 5th, 2017, in celebration of Read Across America Day. All books collected during this time will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Norman.

As an incentive to for donating a new teen, pre-teen or children’s book, guests will receive a Winter Fun Pass ($19.99 value) for only $10. The Winter Fun Pass includes a $3 game card, plus unlimited laser tag, bumper cars, frog hopper, kids zone and rock wall.

“We want to help children in our neighborhoods,” explains Kyle Allison, General Manager and co-owner of Norman’s indoor and outdoor fun center and water park. “Andy Alligator’s is committed to giving back to the community and to the families in our area. Rewarding our patrons with a steep discount on our Winter Fun Pass should help increase the number of books we receive for the Boys and Girls Club.”

Read Across America Day is celebrated each year on Dr. Suess’s birthday which is March 2nd. Started by the National Education Association and now in its 20th year, the program focuses on motivating children and teens to read. Research has shown that children who are motivated and spend more time reading for fun do better in school.

The Boys & Girls Club of Norman provides a safe and caring out-of-school environment for children and youth who live in neighborhoods that experience high levels of poverty and crime or in homes that need additional support.

The book drive begins in a little over a week, buy your book and get ready for a day of family fun at Andy Alligator's!
